Making Mistakes

Remember, in between goals, there’s a thing called life that needs to be experienced and enjoyed. Don’t be so busy focusing on goals that you forget what life is all about. Don’t miss out on making memories with the people you love because of your weight or how you feel in your body. One day, all your children will have is pictures of you. Make sure you are in them. No matter your weight, your body shape, your skin, your grey hair, or any other imagined insecurities. They don’t care about any of that. All they want is to see you. Don’t let your negative self-image and views prevent you from living your life.

If you over indulge, make it your superpower to get back on track. The comeback is always greater than the setback. Reclaim control. Recalibrate to make sure your habits are in alignment with your goals, over the long run. There’s no right or wrong when it comes to the actions you take for your health. There are only opportunities to align deeper with your unique needs, purpose, and goals.

Forget the mistakes, the failures, the roller coasters, the losses and regains, and shift your focus to the lessons you learn. That’s what gives you the power to start over, not from scratch but from experience. Use what worked or didn’t work to guide you toward a more sustainable and consistent approach. With everything you have learned in this book, all that we discussed, you are armed with the tools you need to fly. In fact, soar.

Hungry for Happiness

‘To inspire people, don’t show them your super powers, show them theirs’.

People believe that if they lose weight, they’ll be happy. If they lose weight, everything will be right in their world. Their stress will dissolve, and they’ll somehow miraculously be able to keep it off forever. If you’re reading this, you probably know better by now. In fact, the truth is quite the opposite. You can be just as miserable thin as you were overweight.

We create happiness. We create the joy we want to see in the world. We put out the energy we want to attract, and we can do anything we put our mind to. We might not believe we are strong enough or deserving enough, but when you know what you want, and you know what it takes to get it, I know you can be unstoppable. You need a drive and a strong why. A strong reason for change. One that is stronger than your want to stay the same.
